How long have you been in healthcare, and what are your favorite parts about it?
I have over 30 years of experience in the medical field, with the last eight years spent in leadership roles. I love helping people, whether it’s the patients themselves or their loved ones.
What are your favorite parts leading a healthcare team?
I find my greatest satisfaction in driving excellence and celebrating the little wins!
What have you done to engage your clinicians to prevent the clinician experience project (cep) feeling like “one more thing?”
We’ve been participating in the Clinician Experience Project for the past 1.5 years. During our weekly huddles, we discuss what we’ve learned and how we’re implementing the challenges into our workday. Additionally, we kick off each provider and staff meeting with a 5-10 minute discussion about CEP. It’s incredibly rewarding to hear stories of how these challenges have not only benefited our clinic but also made a positive impact on our team’s personal lives.
What areas has your team improved most?
I can say that we have improved when it comes to expressing empathy for our patients. We see this in our communication with them and is backed by patient comments on CG-CAHPS.
